Jim Gaffigan Gets Candid on Weight Loss in New Stand-Up Special The Skinny

Comedian Jim Gaffigan is bringing his weight loss journey and signature humor to the stage with his latest stand-up special, The Skinny, premiering on Hulu on Friday, Nov. 22. Known for his food-centric comedy, Gaffigan offers a fresh perspective on his relationship with food, thanks to the appetite suppressant drug Mounjaro.

“I’ve still got my fat clothes, I’m not a fool,” Gaffigan quips in a clip from the special, exclusive to the Daily Beast. He jokes about seeing his old clothes in his closet “taunting” him with the possibility of their return.

A New Outlook on Food

Gaffigan credits Mounjaro for changing how he views food. Comparing his past love for McDonald’s to a “weird crush,” he now looks back with disbelief: “I can’t believe I was so into you.” The comedian also humorously acknowledges the drug’s primary purpose: “The drug was created to help people with diabetes or something stupid,” he jokes.

Balancing Humor and Honesty

While Gaffigan keeps audiences laughing, he also opens up about the challenges of weight loss. Speaking more seriously in an interview with People, he admitted to keeping his "fat clothes" as a precaution. The special also follows his recent appearance at the Al Smith dinner, where he shared the stage with McDonald’s superfan Donald Trump.

With The Skinny, Gaffigan blends personal insight and comedy, offering a hilarious yet relatable look at food, weight loss, and self-transformation.
